Maybe you recognize the situation: you are in the drugstore and you have countless make-up brushes to choose from. There are so many brushes, that you do not know which one to use for what kind of make-up. Is it wise to buy the big brush to powder your face or do you want to buy a small brush? No worries! In this blog post we explain to you which make-up brush you use for foundation, blush, highlighter and so on!
- Foundation brush
Most women still apply foundation with their fingertips. Many make-up professionals however, use a special foundation brush. That is because you can apply foundation more evenly when you use a foundation brush. This brush can be recognized by the long, smooth synthetic hair. It is a flat brush with a narrow side so you can get to hard-to-reach spots.
- Concealer brush
The concealer brush is very similar to the foundation brush but is often a lot smaller. The brush has long, synthetic hairs that form a point on top. This allows you to mix the concealer well and apply it accurately. With this brush you can camouflage spots or unevenness such as under the eyes or along the nostrils.
- Powder brush
The powder brush is one that everyone recognizes. This brush has a large, round head. The hairs feel very soft. With the powder brush you apply powder over your entire face. You can also use it to add accents or contours. For example, apply a bronzer with this brush. Do not do that over your entire face, but in a 3-shape on your cheek.
- Blush brush
A blush brush is round or obliquely cut to allow the contours of the face to appear naturally. The hairs of the brush feel soft on the skin.
- Highlighter brush
A highlighter brush is cut off at an angle so that you can place the highlighter nicely under or above your cheekbones. Highlighter can also be applied with a fan brush. With this you apply the powder lightly and naturally.
- Eyeshadow brush
You use an eyeshadow brush to apply eye shadow to your eyelids. These brushes are fairly flat and cut off. The tip of this brush can also be used to apply eyeshadow on your lower lash line.
- Blending brush
A blending brush is a small, flat brush to blur the hard lines of your eyeshadow and to mix colors. This brush is much like an eyeshadow brush.
- Eyeliner brush
The eyeliner brush is a small, thin brush with obliquely cut hair. This makes it very easy to make a tight line above your lash line. Incidentally, this brush is also ideal to color your eyebrows with powder. You will not get any hard lines because of the slanting side.
So, now you know which brushes you use for what! Will you now also apply your make-up with a special brush? Order them in the Novus Fumus shop.
